The Star and Shadow Cinema (S&S) is an anarchic and 100% volunteer ran cinema and cultural centre based in Newcastle upon Tyne.
There are no bosses or managers at the S&S, just working groups, collective meetings, consensus decision making and a heavy dose of healthy/messy disorganisation.
The S&S programme is completely open and anyone willing to volunteer can put on a film screening, gig, meeting, talk or party, as long as they are willing to help run the place.
