A Community of Objects brought together many personal items to create a portrait that represents the diversity of people who live, work, or play in the residential neighbourhood of Shieldfield.

The portrait grew throughout the exhibition period, only becoming complete in it’s final week. The final installation represented the ecclectic mix of people and their stories.

The exhibition also included a selection of clips from the North East Film Archive, on themes of working life, social life, family life, politics & architecture, as well as the 100 People teaser trailer.

A Community of Objects is a collective approach to exhibition first initiated ithin Trading Post, an eleven month residency, exhibition, and events programme led by Andrew Wilson and commissioned by Allenheads Contemporary Arts in 2011.
